However, the formal Agile Project Management has become tightly connected to software development and projects within the Information Technology (IT) space. Whereas in Agile, smaller deliverables and ongoing refinements are embedded in the project lifecycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/f.hubspotusercontent40.net\/hubfs\/3294842\/Agile%20for%20All%201.png\" alt=\"Agile for All 1\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of the nature of software and IT development, requiring incremental change, test, change, test cycles, Agile is most associated with technology efforts. However, Agile as a methodology has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agileconnection.com\/article\/does-agile-work-outside-software#:~:text=In%20real%20business%2C%20not%20just,want%20to%20shout%2C%20%E2%80%9CYes!&amp;text=These%20ideas%20originated%20outside%20software,%2C%20prioritization%2C%20and%20visual%20management\">roots in the non-software work of lean, agile manufacturing and organizational learning.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"agile-manifesto\">Agile Manifesto<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One should not consider using Agile without knowing of it\u2019s origin in 2001 with the <a href=\"https:\/\/agilemanifesto.org\/\">Agile Manifesto<\/a>. In Utah, seventeen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pmi.org\/learning\/library\/apply-agile-methodology-nonsoftware-enterprise-projects-9273\">developers crafted what is known as The Manifesto for Agile Software Development<\/a>, with a focus on improving the software development process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/f.hubspotusercontent40.net\/hubfs\/3294842\/Agile%20for%20All%202.png\" alt=\"Agile for All 2\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Admittedly, given the authors and the purpose of the manifesto, there is a decided focus on software. But the savvy business professional will also see core principles that apply to any type of work in any industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"agile-benefits-anyone\">Agile Practices That Can Benefit Anyone<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Live radio interviews, newscasts and programming is a far cry from the world of software coding. And yet, National Public Radio <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techrepublic.com\/article\/how-to-apply-agile-practices-with-your-non-tech-team-or-business\/\">(NPR), a decidedly non-software development organization, leveraged Agile practices<\/a> to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.poynter.org\/2012\/how-npr-benefits-from-agile-project-development-you-can-too\/175487\/\">realize cost savings of up to 66%.<\/a> As noted by the italicization in the above listing of the 12 Principles, a non-tech team or business can benefit from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.techrepublic.com\/article\/how-to-apply-agile-practices-with-your-non-tech-team-or-business\/\">core Agile concepts summarized as<\/a>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/f.hubspotusercontent40.net\/hubfs\/3294842\/Agile%20for%20All%203.png\" alt=\"Agile for All 3\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The use of Agile outside of IT has been noted in multiple business publications, such as the Forbes article \u201c<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/quora\/2017\/01\/10\/three-ways-to-use-agile-that-have-nothing-to-do-with-software-development\/#133c06777435\">Three Ways To Use Agile That Have Nothing To Do With Software Development<\/a>\u201d where examples are shared from proposition design, product design, and general product\/system support.
