For many US-based project management jobs, PMP certification is the preferred certification.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"prince2\">What is PRINCE2 certification?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>PR<\/strong>ojects <strong>IN<\/strong> <strong>C<\/strong>ontrolled <strong>E<\/strong>nvironments, or PRINCE, is a process-based method for project management. Updated to reflect business needs, the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/PRINCE2#:~:text=They%20gave%20it%20the%20name,%22PRojects%20IN%20Controlled%20Environments%22.&amp;text=PRINCE2%20was%20released%20in%201996%20as%20a%20generic%20project%20management%20method.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PRINCE2 method was released in 1989 by a UK government support agency<\/a>. The two primary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axelos.com\/certifications\/prince2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PRINCE2 certifications are Foundation and Practitioner. <\/a>\u00a0The Foundation is a prerequisite for the Practitioner certification. PRINCE2 certification is overseen by Axelos, a joint venture of a private company and government organization.
