The approximate length of the PMI-RMP exam is expected to change in 2022:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A smaller number of questions on the PMI-RMP\u00ae exam: reduced from 170 questions to 115 questions<\/li><li>Shorter length of time for the PMI-RMP exam: reduced from 210 minutes, about 3.5 hours, to 150 minutes (or 2.5 hours).<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The updated exam will have new multi-select questions in addition to traditional multiple-choice questions. Multi-select questions, also called multiple answers or multiple selections, require you to identify one or more correct answers from a list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>PMI exams are also moving in the direction of including mostly situational exam questions. A question might present you with a scenario and ask you to apply your knowledge about <a href=\"https:\/\/projectmanagementacademy.net\/resources\/risk-management-process-for-pmp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">risk-related topics<\/a> to identify the best next steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-heading\"><strong>New PMI-RMP\u00ae Exam Domains<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>PMI domains are high-level knowledge areas containing related tasks and enablers that are essential to effective project management practices. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pmi.org\/-\/media\/pmi\/documents\/public\/pdf\/certifications\/risk-management-professional-pilot-examination-content-outline.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">updated PMI-RMP\u00ae exam<\/a> includes the following domains:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Risk Strategy and Planning<\/strong>: 22% of the exam. Related tasks:<ul><li>Performing a preliminary document analysis<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Assessing the project environment for threats and opportunities<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Confirming risk thresholds based on risk appetites<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Establishing a risk management strategy<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Documenting the risk management plan<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Planning and leading risk management activities with stakeholders<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Risk Identification<\/strong>: 23% of the exam. Related tasks:<ul><li>Conducting risk identification exercises<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Examining assumption and constraint analyses<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Documenting risk triggers and thresholds<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Developing a risk register<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Risk Analysis<\/strong>: 23% of the exam. Related tasks:<ul><li>Performing qualitative analysis<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Performing quantitative analysis<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Identifying threats and opportunities<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Risk Response<\/strong>: 13% of the exam. Related tasks:<ul><li>Planning risk response<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Implementing risk response<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Monitor and Close Risks<\/strong>: 19% of the exam. Related tasks:<ul><li>Gathering and analyzing performance data<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Monitoring residual and secondary risks<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Providing information required to update relevant project documents<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Monitoring project risk levels<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The former PMI-RMP\u00ae exam domains included the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Risk Strategy and Planning<\/li><li>Stakeholder Engagement<\/li><li>Risk Process Facilitation<\/li><li>Risk Monitoring and Reporting<\/li><li>Perform Specialized Risk Analysis<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Although these domains have been updated, the new PMI-RMP\u00ae exam will still thoroughly assess your ability to enhance and protect your organization\u2019s needs by identifying and assessing project risks, mitigating threats, and capitalizing on opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-heading\"><strong>Predictive, Agile, and Hybrid Approaches on the New PMI-RMP Exam<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously, predictive or traditional project management was the only approach tested on the PMI-RMP\u00ae exam.
