In some instances, there is a conversion across the professional credit systems, but not always. Although CEU is used across industries, each certification or license has its own CEU hour\/renewal requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-heading\"><strong>Professional Development Units (PDUs)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Project Management Institute (PMI) defines professional development units (PDUs) as: <em>\u201c<\/em>one-hour blocks of time you spend learning, teaching others, or volunteering<em>.\u201d <\/em>Review the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.pmi.org\/-\/media\/pmi\/documents\/public\/pdf\/certifications\/ccr-certification-requirements-handbook.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PMI Certification Requirements Handbook<\/a> for specific PMI certification PDU requirements, including the Project Management Professional (PMP). PMI defines time conversion to a PDU value as 1-hour of learning, teaching, or volunteering = 1 PDU hour. Training provided by a PMI Authorized Training Partner (ATP) is an easy way to ensure your education efforts will count towards <a href=\"https:\/\/projectmanagementacademy.net\/maintain-your-pmi-certifications\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">PDU credits applied to PMI certifications<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-normal-font-size wp-block-heading\"><strong>Continuing Professional Education (CPE)<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Continuing Professional Education (CPE) is a system used to measure and track the training completed by professionals within an industry or specific field. However, other professional organizations may also use \u201cCPE\u201d for training or volunteer work. But in other cases, the professionals will need to submit the time of training measured in CPE or CEU credits in the form of PDU credits when applied to PMI certifications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is not a universal conversion of PDU to CPE or CEU as the organization issuing a certification will set their measurement of hours spent to credits earned.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:10px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"application\"><strong>Can PDU credits be applied towards other certifications?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>CEU or CPE credits are used to maintain professional certifications in diverse industries such as accounting (CPA), financial planner (CFP), architecture (LEED AP Building Design and Construction), or health insurance (HIA).
