Improving Your Workflows with A.I.

Most people who try AI tools get inconsistent results. The problem usually isn't the tool. It's the starting point. This workshop teaches a practical, repeatable method for identifying where AI can save you real time, building prompts that actually work, and redesigning your workflow around the improvement.

This isn't a survey of AI tools or a demo of everything that exists. It's a working session built around your real job. You'll bring a workflow you own, analyze where it slows down, identify the right AI application, write and test a prompt, and leave with a redesigned process you can implement immediately.

Every exercise connects to a single workflow thread you carry from the first module through the last. By the end of the session, you won't just understand the concepts. You'll have applied them to something that matters to you. Participants who complete the full-day session leave with two redesigned workflows, a tested prompt library for their most common tasks, and a method they've proven they can apply independently.

Before You Enroll

This course requires no prior AI experience or technical background. It does require participants to arrive ready to work with real content, a real workflow, and a real tool. Participants who arrive without an approved AI tool will not be able to complete several course modules. A pre-work checklist with specific preparation guidance is below.¹

By the end of this workshop, participants will have the knowledge and practice to:

• Map recurring workflows and identify the specific steps where time is lost or rework occurs /li>
• Match AI capabilities (Draft, Summarize, Extract, Analyze, Answer) to workflow problems based on the type of friction involved
• Structure effective prompts using a 5-element framework that produces consistent, useful output
• Evaluate AI-generated output against a defined goal and iterate with targeted revisions
• Redesign workflows independently, applying the method without facilitation support
• Stress-test a redesigned workflow using structured peer review before implementation
• Document a before/after workflow comparison with a measurable success criterion

Who Should Attend

This workshop is designed for anyone who wants to move beyond understanding AI tools to consistently using them. It's particularly well-suited for professionals who manage high volumes of recurring work. In these lead teams, process consistency matters, or you want to build a personal AI workflow practice that you can sustain and expand independently.

No technical background or prior AI experience is required. If you have processes that take more time than they should, this session gives you the method, the practice, and the confidence to change that.

Format

Virtual Classroom: 8 hours of web-based eLearning with a live instructor. To help assimilate the tools and techniques learned, there is a mixture of individual and group exercises throughout the course. Students need to be prepared for a high level of participation.

In-House: If you have 10 or more employees seeking training, we will deliver the course at your facility or in a private virtual session. A half-day version of this course is available for open enrollment and private group training.

Pre-work Checklist:

• An AI tool your organization approves. Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Google Gemini, or any LLM your organization permits. Confirm access with your IT or compliance team before the session if you are unsure.
• Basic familiarity with that tool. You do not need advanced skills. You need to be able to open the tool, type a prompt, and read the output. If you have never used it, spend 10 minutes before the session asking it a few simple questions.
• A recurring workflow from your actual job. A task or process you do regularly that takes more time than it should. The more real and specific it is, the more you will get out of the session.
• A real work document you can use during the session. A status report, email thread, meeting notes, or project update. If your organization restricts pasting content into external tools, prepare an anonymized version in advance.
