Improving Your Workflows with A.I.
Most people who try AI tools get inconsistent results. The problem usually isn't the tool. It's the starting point. This workshop teaches a practical, repeatable method for identifying where AI can save you real time, building prompts that actually work, and redesigning your workflow around the improvement. This isn't a survey of AI tools or a demo of everything that exists. It's a working session built around your real job. You'll bring a workflow you own, analyze where it slows down, identify the right AI application, write and test a prompt, and leave with a redesigned process you can implement immediately.
Every exercise connects to a single workflow thread you carry from the first module through the last. By the end of the session, you won't just understand the concepts. You'll have applied them to something that matters to you.

Improving Your Workflows With AI - 1 Day
Before You Enroll
This course requires no prior AI experience or technical background. It does require participants to arrive ready to work with real content, a real workflow, and a real tool. Participants who arrive without an approved AI tool will not be able to complete several course modules. A pre-work checklist with specific preparation guidance can be found below.1
How You Will Benefit
- Create a mapped and analyzed workflow from your actual job, with specific problem areas identified
- Identify a matched AI application: the right capability for the right friction point in your process
- Build a written, tested, and revised prompt you can use immediately
- Complete a Workflow Improvement Template showing your redesigned process before and after
- Get access to a reusable, tool-agnostic template you can apply to any workflow independently after the session
What You Will Learn
By the end of this workshop, participants will have the knowledge and practice to:
- Map a recurring workflow and identify the specific steps where time is lost, or rework occurs
- Match AI capabilities (Draft, Summarize, Extract, Analyze, Answer) to workflow problems based on the type of friction involved
- Structure an effective prompt using a 5-element framework that produces consistent, useful output
- Evaluate AI-generated output against a defined goal and iterate with targeted revisions
- Redesign a workflow to incorporate AI at the right point, with human review checkpoints built in
Who Should Attend
This workshop is designed for anyone who does knowledge work and wants to get more done with less manual effort. No technical background is required. No prior AI experience is needed. If you have a recurring process that takes more time than it should, this session is for you.
Roles that benefit most include project coordinators, operations professionals, analysts, administrative professionals, team leads, and anyone who regularly produces written work, manages information, or coordinates across teams.

Pre-work Checklist:
- An AI tool your organization approves. Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Google Gemini, or any LLM your organization permits. Confirm access with your IT or compliance team before the session if you are unsure.
- Basic familiarity with that tool. You do not need advanced skills. You need to be able to open the tool, type a prompt, and read the output. If you have never used it, spend 10 minutes before the session asking it a few simple questions.
- A recurring workflow from your actual job. A task or process you do regularly that takes more time than it should. The more real and specific it is, the more you will get out of the session.
- A real work document you can use during the session. A status report, email thread, meeting notes, or project update. If your organization restricts pasting content into external tools, prepare an anonymized version in advance.
