Our Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training teaches you the strategies and tools necessary for process improvement and provides you with the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification. Take your career to the next level by getting your Lean Six Sigma certification today!

How You Will Benefit

  • Master a set of tools and strategies to reduce costs and increase profits
  • Implement meaningful metrics and measurements to improve business processes
  • Improve quality and reliability, which improves customer satisfaction
  • Implement plans to reduce cycle times
  • Identify constraints to improve process flows
  • Implement Six Sigma metrics to make fact-based decisions based on objective criteria
  • Understand and apply data collection and analysis for better project outcomes
  • Become a specialist in Six Sigma principles
  • Add the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification to your resume

Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification

Upon successfully completing the course (attending all days, completing all assignments, passing the final exam and submitting and passing the final Lean Six Sigma project), you will earn the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB) credential from Project Management Academy®. Project Management Academy is accredited by the Council for Six Sigma Certification (CSSC), an Official Industry Standard for Six Sigma Accreditation. Employers and third parties may submit certification inquiries to verify@projectmanagementacademy.net or sixsigmacouncil.org/six-sigma-certification-verification/.

Your final Lean Six Sigma project must demonstrate your ability to carry out a Six Sigma project (from creation to the final stages using the DMAIC/DMADV method). Your project will be due within 6 months of completing this course and should:

  1. Be valued against other possible projects (and scored against its realistic ability to be carried out)
  2. Have a well-detailed Project Charter
  3. List in detail the DMAIC/DMADV steps taken through the course of the project.
  4. Use data collection and analysis tools consistent with the course materials for the DMAIC or DMADV methodologies and include graphical analysis and displays adequate to show how you arrived at our root cause conclusions, problem-solving and solution generation.
  5. Data comparisons between the current state and future state conditions pertinent to your project problem statement and project goals should be displayed in a fashion that shows your logic and that can be followed by a project reviewer without lengthy investigation or additional computations by the reviewer.
  6. Theoretical or actual projects can be submitted however, both theoretical and actual projects will be subject to the same level of scrutiny as to their validity toward a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.

You are encouraged to be sure to carry out projects in a straightforward manner. One of the primary keys to a successful Six Sigma project is to adhere to the simple structure of DMAIC/DMADV.

What You Will Learn

In this course you will learn how to apply the DMAIC framework, including how to:

  • Initiate Six Sigma projects to bring about significant and lasting organizational change
  • Formulate project selection criteria to focus Six Sigma initiatives on projects that will have the greatest chance of success
  • Apply the DMAIC improvement process to solve business problems
  • Develop process maps to gain a full understanding of an existing process
  • Incorporate the "y = f(x)" method to determine the relationship between key inputs and process outputs
  • Employ Six Sigma data-driven approaches to solve problems at their root cause and prevent their recurrence
  • Reduce waste and defects by applying Lean and Six Sigma principles
  • Implement control charts to monitor how a process is performing over time

Who Should Attend

Those seeking to utilize Lean Six Sigma to implement cost reduction solutions, increase revenues and drive quality initiatives should attend this course. No previous experience with Lean Six Sigma is required.

Format

Virtual LSSBB Training
Virtual Classroom: Class will be held 2 days per week over 5 weeks. All classes will be of web-based eLearning with a live instructor. You will also receive a print version of the training materials (course binder), 6-months access to our online training portal and you'll earn the Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB) credential.
In-House LSSBB Training
In-House: If you have 10 or more employees seeking Lean Six Sigma Black Belt training, we will deliver the course at your facility (or another location in your area, if you prefer) or virtually. The training can be scheduled during any two-week consecutive period of 5 days each or scheduled in accordance with your team's needs.

Duration

This course is worth 80 PDU hours.

System Requirements and Reference Materials

Throughout this course, your instructor will often show examples or solve problems using Microsoft Excel and other common Lean Six Sigma software packages. At this time, the only software students are strongly encouraged to have access to as part of participating in the course is Microsoft Excel. You will also have a PDF copy of Six Sigma: A complete Step-by-Step Guide by the Council for Six Sigma Certification.
